Science In November! Thumbnail Image

Science In November!

During the month of November, our 5th grade students were busy working on science. Their unit was Mixtures & Solutions in Science. They completed a lab in their Google classroom. Their focus question was: How can you separate a mixture? After they made 3 different mixtures/solutions with water (water & gravel, water & salt, and water & diatomaceous earth/powder). They used screens and filters to separate. The students were not able to separate salt water which will lead them into their next investigation.

NWS Families we have our Perfect Attendance Recipients for the Month of September and October!

Why is attendance so important? Research has shown that your child's regular attendance may be the greatest factor influencing his/her academic success. Some of the greatest benefits for attending school regularly are: • Achievement: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to pass reading and math assessments than students who do not. • Being part of the school community: Just by being present at school, your child is learning how to be a good citizen by participating in the school community, learning valuable social skills, and developing a broader world view.
